Bangalore Endoscopic Surgery Training Institute & Research Centre is a nonprofit
organization based at A.V. Hospital, Bangalore, India and is involved in several activities. The basic motto of the
organization is dissemination of endoscopic surgical skills and to develop technologies for the future. The institute has an on-going well-structured training programme in Laparoscopic Surgery for surgeons, urologists &
gynecologists interested in basic laparoscopic surgery. The popularity of this course is attracting professionals from all over
the country and abroad.
The Institute has organized several Conferences and Workshops in Laparoscopic surgery for training in advanced endoscopic surgical skills. Research activities from the Institute have resulted in Dr. M.Ramesh, the Director of the Institute present over
80 papers in Conferences around the globe.
The B.E.S.T. Institute & Research Centre is also involved in development
projects of major technologies like Virtual Reality Laparoscopic Surgery
Training Modules along with other major research bodies like D.R.D.O. India &
MIT Boston, USA. It has established the first Telemonitoring Center in the
Country and also involved in research in the field of Robotic Surgery.
At the same time the Institute is keenly involved is developing low-cost instrumentation and techniques to make Laparoscopy more affordable. Its aim
endeavor is to see Laparoscopy at every nook & corner of our country.
